Présentation

The Architecture and Function of Biological Macromolecules (AFMB) laboratory, supervised by the CNRS and Aix-Marseille Univ (AMU) and in partnership with INRAE, is internationally recognized in the field of structural biology. This laboratory, which is located in the Luminy campus in the south of Marseille, gathers an average number of 75 permanent and non-permanent staff members contributing to 6 research teams and to administrative and technological facilities. Research themes range from glycobiology and glycogenomics to microbiology, virology and neurobiology. The common objective is the detailed description of the structure-function relationships of proteins, protein-ligand complexes and macromolecular assemblies using modern multidisciplinary approaches in bioinformatics, genetic engineering, biochemistry, biophysics, medicinal chemistry with emphasis on integrative structural biology.
