Abstract

Ajami (Arabographic) texts in Mandinka and in Bamana (Bambara) languages are published with Latin transcription, translation and comments. The Mandinka texts collected in 2007 in Senegal represent hunters' incantations; the collection of Bamana texts dates back to 1911, it includes descriptions of popular customs, medical recipes and basics of Muslim religions.
