Photogrammetric survey of heritage objects: an experimental protocol for optimizing camera placement for aerial surveys

Résumé

The MAP-aria research team is currently working on an interdisciplinary IMAG'IN challenge co-financed by the French CNRS: it takes advantage of the experimental empiricism tested for nearly 15 years by the laboratory in the area of SfM workflows. The main goal is to develop - within this domain -an original and fast approach able to determine the efficiency of a given camera coverage that will be implemented as a field-based tool able not only to suggest the most relevant operational choices during survey campaigns but also to be capable - in the near future - to generate safer and more accurate flight paths when deploying aerial vectors.
