Pointwise moving control for the 1-D wave equation - Numerical approximation and optimization of the support

Résumé

We consider the exact null controllability of the 1-D wave equation with an interior pointwise control acting on a moving point. We approximate a control of minimal norm through a mixed formulation solved by using a conformal space-time finite element method. We then introduce a gradient-type approach in order to optimize the trajectory of the control point. Several experiments are discussed.
