Amplification du mouvement sismique

Résumé

Due to local geological conditions, seismic waves can be strongly amplified in some specific areas. In this paper, seismic and microtremor measurements in Nice (french riviera) are compared with numerical results of boundary element method computations. Thanks to this method, different wave types are considered (pressure, shear) and the amplification factor of seismic motion is estimated. Influence of frequency and incidence is investigated as well as location of areas of maximum amplification. Experimental and numerical methods give very close results concerning frequencies of maximum amplification. Numerical modeling allows the determination of maximum amplification areas and the analysis of the influence of frequency on their location.
