Design of Coordination Polymers based on combinations of 1,2-diphenylethane-1,2-diyl diisonicotinate with Cu(II), Zn(II), Cd(II) and Co(II)
Abstract
Five new supramolecular coordination polymers (L-Cu(acac)2, L-Cu(hfac)2, L-ZnCl2, L-CdI2 and L-CoCl2) based on the use of the flexible organic ligand L (1,2-Diphenylethane-1,2-diyl diisonicotinate) combined with Cu(acac)2, Cu(hfac)2, ZnCl2, CdI2 or CoCl2 metallaligands, were synthesized and structurally characterized by single-crystal X-ray diffraction. They represent the first reported coordination polymers based on this ligand presenting ether junctions. X-ray diffraction analysis revealed the structure and the dimensionality of these coordination polymers as well as their packing in the crystal that depends on the conformation adopted by the ligand L and the nature of the metallic salts
