Sector size in Magnetic, Electronic and Optical media

Abstract

Information storage is reviewed from the magnetic, electronic and optical points of view. Sector size being the unit of information has a paramount importance in storage and retrieval of information. In this work we concentrate on sector coding and its length optimization in order to obtain the lowest BER (Bit Error Rate) during reading and writing of Information in magnetic, electronic and optical digital media.
