IBV

A center of excellence and international renown, the Institut de Biologie Valrose (iBV) is a tripartite CNRS - Inserm - Université Côte d'Azur institute. Comprising 28 research teams, bringing together around 300 people from all over the world (20-30 different nationalities), the iBV is located in Nice on the Valrose Campus and the Faculty of Medicine (Pasteur Tower). The iBV teams study fundamental questions in the life and health sciences, such as the biology of organ development, the molecular pathology of cancer, diabetes, obesity, reproductive biology, etc., using multidisciplinary approaches involving molecular biology, cell biology, genetics, imaging, genomics, bioinformatics, etc. Research at the iBV provides access to a wide range of biological models (Drosophila, cell lines, yeast, nematodes, sea urchins, zebrafish, mice) and to state-of-the-art technological platforms for photonic microscopy, cytometry, histology, biochemical purification, etc.
