Abstract
This paper investigates the inscriptions and the carved images of Aššurnaṣirpal II's throne room in his NorthWest palace located at Nimrud/Kalhu. Attention is paid to the divine figures, the winged disk and various standards which appear to draw a coherent background to the Assyrian royal message.
